AFLNT Primary School Challenge

During Term 3 across Darwin various primary schools compete weekly in this mixed football competition. You don’t have to have played AFL before to participate as this competition is the perfect environment to learn the game. 

This competition gives all students the opportunity to develop their skills, leadership, and fitness all while having fun with their friends and representing their school community. 

There is no fee for schools to enter a team and matches are played during the week after school hours at participating school ovals.

2024 Winners: Nightcliff Primary School (Pool A) & Wagaman Primary School (Pool B)

AFLNT Middle School Challenge

In Term 2 schools from the Greater Darwin region enter Middle School teams into this exciting competition which began in 2023. Offering enthusiastic youth football players, the perfect opportunity to continue to develop their skills during the NTFL off-season, all while encouraging school attendance.

There is no fee for schools to enter a team and matches are played during the week after school hours at participating school ovals.

2024 Winners: Haileybury Rendell School (Boys) & O’Loughlin Catholic College (Girls)

AFLNT High School Challenge

In Term 3 the AFLNT High School Challenge engages schools from the Greater Darwin region to compete against each other. This competition offers benefits to every student; whether it’s health and fitness, promoting social connections or skill development. 

Taking place during the Darwin dry season this is a fun competition for schools, teachers, students, and parents to get involved with. There is no fee for schools to enter a team and matches are played during the week after school hours at participating school ovals.
