Facilities
Facilities & Infrastructure
AFL NSW/ACT have a dedicated Facilities and Infrastructure team to enhance and expand AFL facilities across the State and Territory. Working in collaboration with clubs, councils, schools, and other landowners, to ensure facilities are keeping up with the growing demand for all forms of AFL in NSW and ACT.
Current key priorities include maximising the carrying capacity of AFL fields in the region, establishing new fields to meet existing and future participant demand and creating spaces that are welcoming and accessible for all.

AFL Posts in the Park and Schools
AFL NSW/ACT is committed to seeing more opportunities for people to engage in AFL. However, with access to green space in Sydney at a premium, there is limited chance to create new full-size AFL playing fields.
An opportunity exists in NSW to deliver a Posts in the Park and Schools initiative which would see the installation of AFL goals posts in selected local parks, existing sports fields, and schools across Sydney. This is a cost-effective way to add value to public park assets and schools, provide a range of equipment to users of all ages, and to encourage residents and students to engage in active recreation. Landowners who are interested in this initiative should review criteria and register their interest.
