Leagues
The AFL Canberra competition began in 1924, making it one of the region’s most mature league. Canberrans can play, coach, umpire and volunteer across multiple grades in men’s, women’s, girls and boys competitions.
The AFL Central West league encompasses seven clubs within the region. Bathurst Bushrangers, Bathurst Giants, Cowra Blues, Dubbo Demons, Dubbo Junior AFL, Orange Tigers and Parkes Panthers. Additionally, the competition supports the community NAB AFL Auskick program at Forbes Swampies Junior AFL.
The Central West competition has a rich 40-plus-year history.
AFL Hunter Central Coast Incorporated is the body recognised by AFL NSW/ ACT responsible for the management of junior, youth and senior Community Football Competitions across the Hunter & Central Coast regions of New South Wales. The AFL Hunter Central Coast Board is comprised of seven members and are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the league.
It is one of the oldest sporting leagues in the country, with competition dating back to the 1880s. AFL Hunter Central Coast is affiliated with AFL NSW/ACT via a League Services & Affiliation Agreement.
AFL North Coast is based in Coffs Harbour and boasts senior and junior clubs stretching from Lismore to Port Macquarie.
The league is supported by an AFL office in Coffs Harbour which manages the region’s competition and participation programs including AFL Nines, NAB AFL Auskick and NAB AFL Superkick.
AFL Riverina is the controlling body for the code of Australian Football and Netball in Riverina area.
AFL Riverina is responsible for the governance and administration of all aspects of Australian Football and Netball throughout the region. It covers five competitions: Riverina Football League, Farrer Football League, Southern NSW Women’s League, South West Junior Football League and Wagga & District Junior Football League.
AFL Sapphire Coast is the most south-eastern league in NSW, with clubs stretching from Eden to Batemans Bay.
Formed in 1969, AFL South Coast is the controlling body and is responsible for the governance and administration of all aspects of Australian Football across the region.
AFL South Coast comprises three competitions, AFL South Coast Seniors, AFL Shoalhaven Juniors and AFL Illawarra Juniors (U15 and U17 grades play in the AFL South Coast Juniors competition).
Twelve clubs compete in the AFL South Coast sanctioned competitions, spread from Woonona through to Ulladulla in the south.
Australian Rules football has been played in Sydney since 1881 and is now thriving for girls, boys, women and men across multiple age groups and at more than 50 clubs.
Clubs in the league and open and accessible for all, with positions on and off the field for all people. The league proudly supports Indigenous Round, Pride Round and numerous other themed rounds and causes to ensure everyone is welcome.
The quality of senior grades is exceptional, with Premier competition in men’s and women’s broadcast live each week.
The Broken Hill Football League (BHFL) is an Australian Rules football competition based in the Broken Hill region of New South Wales, Australia. Although located in the state of New South Wales the league is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). The Broken Hill Football League is in the Murray Mallee Barrier Zone in the South Australian Country Football Championships.
The Hume Football Netball League in consists of 12 clubs, each of which has both a Football and a Netball component.
The League stretches from the cities of Wagga Wagga in the north to Albury in the south, and from the towns of Holbrook in the east to Oaklands in the west. Apart from the two city precincts the League encompasses the Shires of Greater Hume, Lockhart, Urana & Corowa.
The Northern Riverina Football League has five clubs competing in seniors, U11, U14 and U17 competitions. Clubs are: Hillston, Tullibigeal, Lake Cargelligo, West Wyalong and Ungarie.
There are almost 40 clubs in AFL Sydney juniors with options for players ranging from U9s to U17s. The league is professionally managed by a team of full-time staff and supported by countless dedicated volunteers across greater Sydney.
